Uterine fibroids are abnormal non-cancerous growth made up of mostly fibrous tissue, that develop in or on women’s womb (uterus).
They are the most common type of growth in a woman’s pelvic area.
Fibroids are usually benign. In less than 1 in 1000
cases a cancerous fibroid will occur. A cancerous fibroids is called LEIOMYOSARCOMA
CAUSES
Definite cause of fibroids is not known, why fibroids develop but there are several factors may influence their formation
- Family history : Fibroids may be hereditary
- Hormones: Female hormones estrogen and progesterone cause fibroids to grow
- Pregnancy: pregnancy increases the production of estrogen and progesterone in our body, and fibroids develop

SYMPTOMS
- Heavy bleeding, includes blood clots
- Painfull menstruation
- Bleeding between periods
- Cramping
- Menstruation that lasts longer than usual
- Fullness sensation in the pelvic area
- Bloating of the lower abdomen
- Pain during intercourse
- Back pain
- Increase urination
- Swelling of the abdomen
- Sleeplessness
- Depression

Treatment

- Dietary changes :
Avoid meats and high-calorie foods. Eat more green vegetables, green tea, colds water fish. Try to losing overweight.
