Tongue-tie, which is also known as ankyloglossia. It is a congenital condition when a band of tissue connects the underside of the tongue to the floor of the mouth. The fold of tissue under the tongue where it’s attached is called the frenulum ( FREN-yuh-lum).
This may make it hard for the tip of the tongue to move freely.
This condition more common in boyes than girls.
CAUSE
Unknown. Your Gene may play a big role. The condition sometimes runs in families or Heridatory.
More common in boyes than girls.
SYMPTOMS
• Difficult to breastfeeding
• Constant hunger
• Trouble gaining weight
