It refer to abdominal swelling caused by accumulation of free fluid in Peritonium. Often this is caused by liver disease

CAUSE
Most common cause of ascites is cirrhosis of liver. Ascites also caused by heart, kidney failure, cancer or an infection. Ascites occurre when vain of liver is pressure up and the pressure blocks blood flow in the liver.
RISK FACTORS
The common risk factors for ascites include:
1.Alcohol abuse

INVESTIGATION
- When you notice any symptoms of dental cyst consult with dentist
- Orthopantomogram (OPG)
Finding – A circular radio translucent area will be seen under affected tooth, soap-bubble appearance due to multiple trabeculations of the bone
- CT Scan (computerized tomography)
Finding- cyst cavity is filled with water etc
- MRI(magnetic resonance imaging)
- Presence of caries tooth with expansion of maxilla
- Confirmation of cyst diagnosis – Tissue sample taken during surgical removal of the lession
TREATMENT
- Maintain you oral hygiene
- Clean your teeth regular very gently
- Small cyst – Excision of the cyst by intraoral approach
- Large Cyst – Manage by MARSUPIALISATION
- Extraction of tooth
- Endodontic Therapy – Here surgical removal of cyst if the cyst associated with an infected root canal
