The buccal mucosa is the linning of the cheeks and the back of the lips, inside the mouth where they touch the teeth.
Inner cheek cancer also called CARCINOMA BUCCAL MUCOSA. The habit of keeping tobacco quid in the cheek pouch is the common cause of buccal mucosal cancer.
Carcinoma is the most common type of cancer. It begins in the epithelial tissue of the skin and that arises from cells originating in the endodermal, mesodermal Or ectodermal germ layer during embryogenesis.
Carcinoma occur when the DNA of the cell is damaged and the cells begins to grow uncontrollably and become MALIGNANT

SYMPTOMS
In early stages there are often no signs or symptoms of cencer
PRE CANCER STAGE:
- White or red lump or lesion in the mouth
- Pain increase day by day when eating or drinking
- Soreness or a feeling that something is catched in the troat
- Leukoplakia
- Growth increase day by day
- Many oral lesions my be present in the mouth they do not mean that someone has cancer, but should speak to doctor about any changes that occurs in the mouth
CANCER STAGE:
- Pain increase day by day
- Trismus
- Halitosis
- A nonhealing ulcer Or cauliflower like growth seen
- Edges are everted with solidification Or induration ( hard feeling) at the base as well as the edge. It is due to fibrosis cause by malignancy ( Carcinomatous fibrosis)
- Proliferative lesions are often verrucous carcinoma
- Bleed easily on touch
- Fixity to the underlying structures such as mandible may be present
- Earache
- Numbness in the mouth
- Jaw pain
- Tongue pain
- Increase weight loss
- Depression
- Loss of appetite
- Sleeplessness
- Facial deformity
