Overall
A pouch like small organ called gall bladder. In which formation stone (lith) the condition is called cholelithiasis. Gall bladder situated just below the liver. Gall bladder function is to store bile and release time to time to help in proper digestion.
Bile is form in liver and carry end product of RBC breakdown in the liver
CAUSE
There are 3 common cause for formation of a stone in gall bladder
1.Bile containing too much cholesterol-
2.Bile containing too much bile solt-
3.Gall bladder not being empty completely-
SYMPTOMS
- sudden intence pain in right upper abdomen
- Nausea
- vominting
- fever
- pain in rt sholder
- indigestion
- Abdominal pain and cramping after eating fatty foods
- Jaundice
- tenderness over abdomen
Diagnosis
INVESTIGATION
- Blood test
- USG
- Computerized tomography
- HIDA ( A hepatobiliary iminodiacetic acid) scan
Treatment
TREATMENT
- Fasting
- antibiotics
- medication for pain
- Procedure ERCP ( Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography ) to remove any stones blocking the bile ducts.

Laproscopic cholecystectomy
Open cholecystectomy
- After surgery BIOPSY
